Happy Anniversary!

I didn't have to think twice about what I would share today for Wednesday's Walk. BSP and I are celebrating our Third Wedding Anniversary! Please take some time and head over to Lynette's Blog and join in on the fun of shared memories. You won't regret it!

Three years ago today, I married the man who finally made me see that there is such a thing as True Love and sometimes fairy tales can come true! Now that's not to say that we NEVER have our fair share of "gripes" with each other (as Nancy can attest to and once again, THANK YOU dear friend for being such a good "listener"!!) but I've discovered that a true loving relationship means working together through the small "gripes" as well as the big ones.

Both Mike and I were married previously and needless to say, they ended badly. (Honestly, does any marriage END on a good note?!) Mike and I met through work, sort of. He was the mailman for my office. Yep. I fell for the mailman! The first time he came through the front door, he was such a sweet man. Asking lots of questions about how we wanted the mail to be delivered, etc. When he left, I turned to my then co-worker and said "Did you see the mailman?! This is going to be fun"!! Little did I know! (We always liked to visit with the mail carrier as well as the UPS guy. Sometimes days in the office can be long and boring so it's always a good thing when the folks you see frequently are willing to chat for a few minutes.)

Well, long story short, Mike asked me out. Oh my goodness! I had never had such a handsome man show interest in me and those first several times together I was sure he could hear my heart pounding inside my chest! Mike made me laugh when there wasn't a whole lot to laugh about and in the long run, he taught me to love again.

We dated for nearly 4 years before he asked me to marry him. His proposal was on the mega tron at Coors Field at a Rockies baseball game! He had taken me to Alaska to meet his family the year before and I truly enjoyed every minute of our time there. So to get me to stay in my seat when he knew the proposal would be on the screen, he told me that Frontier Airlines would be giving away free tickets to anywhere in the Country and we could use them to go to Alaska again but you had to be in your seat during the giveaway. I fell for it hook, line and sinker! And believe it or not, a Frontier Airlines spot came on the screen just before the proposal did!! He couldn't have planned it any better! When the screen scrolled: "Lisa, will you marry me! Mike" I turned to him to say, "I can't believe it! Another Mike is asking another Lisa to marry him"!!! and there he sat with my engagement ring on his pinky finger!! Of course, I started crying and blubbering and he managed to say to me "Is that a yes"? YES, YES, YES!!!

So today sweetheart, Happy Anniversary and I love you more and more each day. I am so blessed to have found you and pray we have many wonderful years together. I love you!
